Best Blue Cheese Salad Dressing

I'm sure you've heard it time and time again, the dreaded 'I don't like Blue Cheese Dressing' that comes from most peoples mouths. Well let us be frank, most people have never had -real- blue cheese dressing! They have the stuff out of the bottle that would make most peoples flavor palettes question life choices. Homemade is the way to go! Besides the fact that it is super easy to make, it is a whole other world of flavor that is so hard to describe! My only comment when making your blue cheese, is buy the good stuff! Source your blue cheese local and fresh as it greatly effects the flavor. I love a good creamy blue cheese that melts in the mouth for this recipe! What you need: ~ 1 Cup Sour Cream ~ 1 Cup Mayonnaise (Make it from scratch, it's so much fun!) ~ 2/3 cup buttermilk ~ 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce ~ 1/2 tsp Sugar ~ 1/2 tsp dry mustard ~ 1/2 tsp garlic powder
~ 1/2 tsp ground pepper (I like using white or pink peppercorns for this)
~ 1/2 tsp salt TO TASTE. Remember each cheese is unique in it's salt level
~ 4oz of a good blue cheese crumbled to pea sized chunks. Step One: Mix together the sour cream, mayonnaise, buttermilk, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, mustard, garlic powder, pepper, and salt. Step Two: Stir in the crumbled blue cheese. Cover and refrigerate at least 8 hours before serving if you can hold of a whole day even better! Give it a quick sample to add more or less pepper depending on what you like. Step Three: Enjoy with your favorite salad, fresh slices of veggies, or amazing spicy buffalo wings!
